Hapag-Lloyd revises terminal calls in Mediterranean services

Hapag-Lloyd has announced terminal call changes in its jointly-operated with Sealand, a Maersk subsidiary company, Europe Mediterranean Express (EMX) and East Mediterranean Express (EME) services.

In particular, the EMX, in which Hapag-Lloyd is the vessel provider, will enhance its connectivity between North Europe and the Mediterranean, according to a statement, as of the second week of 2021, when the service will replace and add the following terminal calls.

All other terminals not listed above remain unchanged, said the German carrier.

From the week beginning 11 January 2021 the port rotation of the EMX will be: Felixstowe – Hamburg – Bremerhaven – Antwerp – Piraeus – Izmit – Istanbul – Gemlik – Aliaga – Valencia – Felixstowe.

The first vessel to call the new terminals will be the 6,400TEU Maersk Kotka with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) at Felixstowe on 13 January and at Piraeus on 31 January.

In addition, the Hamburg-based line, a slot charterer in the service, will add the following terminal calls on the EME service from the first week of the new year.

All other terminals not listed above remain unchanged, as well as on the EXM service.

The port rotation of the EME service will be as follows, starting from the first week, which begins on 4 January: London – Gateway – Rotterdam – Bremerhaven – Hamburg – Antwerp – Limassol – Ashdod – Alexandria – Haifa – Mersin – London Gateway.

The 4,000TEU boxship, Monte Verde, will call the new terminals with a Felixstowe ETA on 6 January and Limassol ETA on 27 January.
