Spanish company appoints new director of Asia operations while ex-Panalpina executive to head Sea Freight division.
Spain’s Noatum Logistics has announced the appointment of Ramon Gallen as managing director, Asia, succeeding Marco Gaeta who has been in the role for the past eight years.
Gallen joined the company in December 2014 as deputy managing director and subsequently worked in several areas of the business.
In his time in the post, he contributed to the Komet integration project in Turkey as well as supporting the MIQ acquisition and integration team in 2019, Noatum Logistics said in a statement.
Earlier this year, and after having carried out several projects in Istanbul, Chicago and Peru, Gallen was appointed the company’s global head, Sea Freight.
“Ramon Gallen brings a wide experience in integrations, a cross-disciplinary knowledge of the different activities and regions of Noatum Logistics and a strong focus on results. Based in Hong Kong, his new role will be focused on consolidating Noatum Logistics’s presence in Asia,” the statement noted.
Daryl Ridgway will succeed Gallen as global head, Sea Freight.
He has over 30 years of experience in logistics, specializing in ocean freight and supply chain.
Ridgway’s most recent role was as global head, Ocean Freight, at Panalpina and he has also held senior positions at Kuehne + Nagel.
“His main goal will be to capture the synergies of the global procurement within the group, as well as to develop the Global Sea Freight product of this business area of Noatum,” the statement added.
Noatum Logistics is present in 25 countries, employs more than 1,700 staff and operates 140,000 sqm of warehousing.
According to information on the company’s website, it handles 53,800 tonnes of air freight and 289,100 TEU of sea freight annually.
Noatum Logistics is part of the Noatum Group whose activities also span maritime services and port operations.
