Time:Matters responds to air capacity bottlenecks with more Germany-UK-Ireland flights

New dedicated flights primarily used by customers from medtech, automotive, machinery, components, aviation and semiconductor industries.Germany’s speed logistics specialist time:matters has responded to intra-European air cargo capacity bottlenecks by offering additional dedicated air freight capacity between Germany and the UK and Ireland as it seeks to offer its customers flexible solutions for maintaining supply chains.

With current cargo capacity still limited due to the coronavirus pandemic, the new dedicated flights of time:matters “are therefore primarily used by customers from the logistics, medtech, automotive, machinery and components, aviation and semiconductor industries”, the company said. “The agricultural sector is also benefiting from the additional cargo flights against the backdrop of the current harvest season.”

Alexander Kohnen, CEO at time:matters commented: “We are pleased to be able to offer our customers flexible and high-performance transport solutions to maintain their supply chains in times of capacity bottlenecks and possible restrictions in cross-border road traffic thanks to the new dedicated flight service. In particular, connectivity to the intercontinental air network plays a crucial role in this regard.”

With immediate effect, its long-standing partner Businesswings will fly dedicated capacity for time:matters to Birmingham and Dublin from Frankfurt am Main on Mondays to Fridays, with late check-in and departure times after 8pm at Frankfurt Airport allowing customers “to utilise the full production day”. Immediately after arrival at the destination airports, the shipments will be made available for collection, distribution, and dedicated transport solutions, the German emergency logistics firm said, stressing that “the early availability saves time and prevents high downtime costs within the supply chains”.

In the opposite direction, flights from Birmingham and Dublin reach Frankfurt early in the morning before 7am, to ensure “optimal synchronisation with the intercontinental flight network”.

In a separate, recent development, time:matters has “significantly”  expanded its Sameday Air service between Europe and the US via Paris.

Customers now have access to more than 30 additional direct flights per week between Paris (Charles de Gaulle Airport) and ten stations in the US – Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington D.C.

In addition, “highly-urgent” shipments from 13 European stations – Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Geneva, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Madrid, Milan, Porto, Rome, Stockholm and Warsaw – will now be transported to Paris. The service is supplemented by flights within France from the six French metropolitan regions of Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon, Nice, Marseille and Toulouse to Paris.
