Major Panama terminal deploys next-gen TOS platform

Tideworks Technology Inc. (Tideworks), a US logistics solutions provider, has announced the integration of its new marine terminal operating system (TOS) solution, Mainsail 10, at Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT) in Panama.

Mainsail 10 went live at MIT this month and it was Tidewroks’ first deployment of its new marine TOS solution.

Mainsail 10 provides rapid access to management of real-time data to improve decision making and increase the flow of cargo through the terminal, according to Tideworks, while also reducing costs.

The new TOS is highly configurable and customisable – allowing terminal operators to create individualised user experiences and powerful ad-hoc reports. Additionally, the solution integrates with back-office accounting and ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems among other third-party technologies.

Tideworks claims that Mainsail 10 increases the terminal operators’ flexibility and can seamlessly integrate and scale to adapt to changing operational needs.

Thomas Rucker, president of Tideworks, highlighted the durable co-operation with Panamanian terminal, commenting, “The successful go-live of Mainsail 10 at MIT signifies another milestone in our long-term partnership with MIT.”

Throughout the design and development of Mainsail 10, Tideworks worked closely with its terminal operator customers and stakeholders to create a next-generation TOS platform informed by historical industry insight, according to a statement.

“We have begun integrating Mainsail 10 with the variety of third-party tools and technologies in use at MIT to increase efficiency across the terminal,” said Stacy Hatfield, MIT general manager.

Below are the key features and benefits of Mainsail 10 according to Tideworks:

  • Highly Configurable User Experience.
  • Unprecedented System Command.
  • Intelligent Third-Party Integration.
  • High Performing.
  • Responsive Design.
  • Powerful Reporting.

Leading up to the go-live at MIT, Tideworks provided implementation services including project management, software configuration and installation, integration services, user training and go-live assistance. Tideworks will continue to offer ongoing maintenance and support services, which include 24-hour, seven days a week, technical support and software upgrades.
