Just three days until Global Freight Awards 2019

Clock is ticking as freight sector’s premier event in London approaches, this year hosted by multi-award-winning comedian and actor Tom Allen – as well as the afternoon’s Ending Misdeclared Cargo Forum.

With just three days until the Global Freight Awards 2019 on Thursday, the clock is ticking to the freight sector’s premier event in London recognising and celebrating success and excellence in international logistics, this year hosted by multi-award-winning comedian, writer and actor Tom Allen.

The finalists have all been selected for the various categories of the Awards organised by Lloyd’s Loading List, but there are still tables available for the event in the evening of 14 November at Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. Reasons to attend the Global Freight Awards 2019 include entertaining clients and rewarding staff, as well as celebrating excellence in the company of major industry figures that are the cream of international freight and logistics.

Alongside the main Global Freight Awards 2019 ceremony and dinner, the night will include an ‘after-party’ featuring a live band, mini golf, cheese & biscuits, ‘chutney tricycle’, craft beer and ‘cocktail tricycle’. There will also be a Transaid prize draw – with four prizes.

There are also still spaces available in the Ending Misdeclared Cargo Forum in the afternoon, where expert panellists will examine the options being put forward to stamp out misdeclarations, wrongly stowed hazardous freight, or other cargo-related malpractices that can have deadly consequences. The interactive forum with industry leaders is being organised by Lloyd’s Loading List in partnership with Lloyd’s List and its research and consultancy counterparts at Lloyd’s List Intelligence to drive collaborative effort to tackle the faults in the global supply chain of dangerous goods.

The afternoon forum on 14 November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel is complimentary to attend and runs in conjunction with the Global Freight Awards, running from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, to be chaired by Lloyd’s List Containers editor James Baker. Contributors will include Peregrine Storrs-Fox, risk management director at TT Club; Laurent Audaz, head of P&I insurance, legal and claims at Mediterranean Shipping Co; and Tom Sommerwerck, managing director at Döhle Assekuranzkontor.
