Hellmann next in line for CargoWise rollout
Just a week after DHL’s forwarding arm launched a new digital platform built on CargoWise, WiseTech Global has signed up another major forwarder for its innovative Transport Management System.
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is to rollout CargoWise as its new Transport Management (TMS) System for all air and sea freight operations.
Following successful trials of the single-platform logistics solution developed by WiseTech Global, Hellmann said it would integrate CargoWise across 42 countries including the US, Australia, Germany, the UK, India, South Korea, South Africa and Hong Kong.
The Hellmann announcement follows the launch of myDHLi by DHL Global Forwarding last week. As reported by Lloyd’s Loading List, the TMS backbone of myDHLi is CargoWiseOne, an off-the-shelf platform designed by WiseTech Global and then customised to suit DHL’s needs.
Wisetech Global entered the Australian Securities Exchange 100 earlier this year and claims it is now rolling out CargoWise globally for “10 of the world’s largest logistics providers”.
Hellmann said it opted for CargoWise in a bid to enhance its air and sea freight operational processes by standardizing systems and databases. The Germany-based forwarder said the integration of CargoWise would “further optimizes customer experience by allowing for an automated and transparent information exchange with clients” worldwide.
“Transcending the challenges in global logistics sustainably and further developing the service quality for our customers, requires a global integrated platform that can provide end-to-end logistics execution,” said Reiner Heiken, Chief Executive Officer of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
“Essential to our decision was uncompromising delivery of real-time and accurate data visibility, a high degree of automation and a strong compliance and risk mitigation. Another argument in favour of CargoWise was the ability to integrate with existing systems.”
CargoWise, which is now licensed across around 150 countries, enables logistics service providers to execute complex transactions in areas such as freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, shipping, tracking, land transport, e-commerce, and cross-border compliance.
“We are pleased that Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has chosen CargoWise as their freight forwarding solution for their air and sea freight operations globally,” said Richard White, WiseTech Global CEO and Founder.
“CargoWise will provide Hellmann with a highly scalable platform that will not only improve compliance, safety, and visibility, but also enable invaluable improvements to productivity across their global supply chain ecosystem.”
