Infrastructure and connectivity will mark the work of the Port Committee of Public Services of Talcahuano

The development of maritime infrastructure and connectivity will focus the efforts of the Talcahuano Public Services Coordination Port Committee (CPCSPT) during 2021.

The general manager of Ports of Talcahuano, Rodrigo Monsalve, explained that the work axes for 2021 point to infrastructure projects and maritime connectivity, environment and continuity of port operations, through smart and safe logistics.

“We want to strengthen the infrastructure of primary inspection sites and continue evaluating the operation due to the Covid-19 contingency,” he explained.

In turn, the executive commented that “the constancy and coordination of the Port Committee was fundamental for the tasks carried out during 2020, which was a year that challenged us to develop the digitization of various processes. Despite this, we are making progress in projects such as the implementation of the Maritime Single Window (Vumar) and in the integration of the Multiport SAG form with Container Express of San Vicente Terminal Internacional, which will improve communication between public organizations for maritime operations -port “.

Likewise, the manager stressed that the infrastructure of primary inspection sites, the operational continuity of cruise ships will be strengthened and the evaluation of the operation will be maintained due to the Covid-19 contingency.

At their last meeting, the members of the Committee agreed to maintain the work guidelines on which they focused during 2020 to continue promoting the port activity of Talcahuano and coordinate the necessary actions with members of the Comlog, since the public-private partnership was a Positive way to find solutions to an emergency situation like the one that caused the pandemic.

The Manager of Development and Sustainability of Ports of Talcahuano, Guacolda Vargas, referred to the work carried out by the Committee and highlighted that operational continuity and keeping the logistics chain standing was one of the basic lines of action for the entity during 2020.

“The organization and coordination of the public bodies of Talcahuano were a key piece to generate new protocols and processes through digitization, which was achieved through collective work so that Talcahuano is a harmonious city that allows the development of its activity logistics-port and the social community ”, he specified.

l head of the PDI of Talcahuano, Victor Martinez, stressed that “within the work plan defined for 2021 is aiming to finish incorporating the Single Window Maritime, because will coordinate all entities involved in the processes associated with the attention of ships and because the information will be made transparent to all the actors that are included in this area ”.

To conclude, the members of the Committee stressed the importance of the integration of digitization in the maritime-port processes and specified that they will continue working on the operational continuity plan in the event of an earthquake and tsunami.
